Starting from basics: the international class struggle...
From its very inception – and even before it took place! - the victorious Great October (socialist) revolution in 1917 was bitterly opposed by the international capitalist class and especially world imperialism.
And it could not have been otherwise. Genuine socialism, after all, means the expropriation of the banks and major businesses and turning over this enormous wealth for the creative utilization and economic and social development to benefit the working class and non-exploiting population as a whole.
Bourgeois fear was not confined to what was happening in the huge country of Russia. The development of a vibrant and bourgeoning socialist economy in one large land mass would serve as a beacon and inspirational source for billions of oppressed people around the world.
Nothing was more important for world imperialism – above all for the most powerful and most rapacious United States of America – than overthrowing the first and most powerful socialist state.( Collapse )
